Queens Life Skills Project
(Young Mothers Support Program)

This project trains teenage girls and young mothers in skills such as hairdressing, bookkeeping, branding, culinary arts, and tailoring, along with providing startup kits to help them establish income-generating activities. Weekly peer support groups allow them to share life experiences and coping mechanisms.

• Additional Training: Participants receive training in customer communication, branding, sales and marketing, and business planning, alongside guidance and counseling on handling life’s challenges with a positive mindset. Lessons on substance abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS, and other social issues are included.
• Life Skills Definition: These are abilities and behaviors that equip young women and teenage mothers to navigate daily challenges and traumatic experiences effectively.
